Current Pennsylvania insurance issues as of February 2010
Current Pennsylvania insurance issues of affordability and availability are not any more remarkable than most other states but they do reflect some of the common issues that face all states.
We've heard how Pennsylvanians feel about guns and religion, but what happens when you throw healthcare into the mix? This is also one of those states that's mixed bag. They do well in things like high school graduation and percentage of insured residents, ranking 7th in both. However, they rank 47th in air pollution and 40th in infectious disease. This state provides neither a cutting-edge example of how to cover a state's residents nor a cautionary tale about how not to. However, they face an uncertain future with healthcare premiums having risen 5.7 times as fast as earnings from 2000 to 2006. A recent poll shows that 57 percent of Pennsylvanias oppose health care legislation. Maybe a little religion and guns can go a long way.
