Current Nevada insurance issues as of February 2010
Nevada insurance issues of affordability and availability are not something that the state would want to see broadcast in neon on the Las Vegas strip.
While this state gets plenty of well-deserved respect for being the entertainment capital of the world, it hasn't gotten a lot of positive news as a place to live. It's 42nd lowest in the country in number of unisured, rock bottom last in high school graduation rates, 49th in violent crime, 46th in primary care physicians and 45th in geographic disparity. On the plus side, air pollution is not too bad, they have don't have an awful infant mortality rate and amazingly, they don't do too bad in preventable hospitalizations. You can also get free drinks at the Mirage if you gamble hard enough. Seriously, there's every motivation for Senator Harry Reid to be pit bull-persistent in pushing for federal health care reform. Additionally, it would be wise for Governor Gibbons and Mayor Goodman to be a bit more polite to the president who's attempting to health care legislation through Congress.
