Current review of Indiana insurance affordability and availability issues as well as relevant health statistics pertaining to its residents as of February 2010
Indiana insurance affordability and availability issues seem to be getting wrapped up in what resembles small town politics.
Indiana was not exempt from the economic downturn and the state lost close to 100,000 jobs. That automatically means that its number of uninsured residents has risen by a similar amount. The current unemployment rate is an eye-popping 10.1 percent. Even with these concerns, there is notable opposition in this state to health care reform. The state's attorney general recently released a mandated report critical of current proposed federal health care reform. The attorney general "guaranteed" years and years of litigation and was doubtful of cost savings. Mr. Zoeller claims that the report was not politically driven, however all that were involved in its production were Republicans.
