Current Hawaii insurance issues as of February 2010

Hawaii insurance affordability and availability issues seem to have been resolved for years.

This being President Obama's home state makes it an interesting study in terms of how health care is handled. Not that the president is responsible for their health care system, but you have to wonder if it provided an influence. When you look at Hawaii's health care system, you have to think that it does. Hawaii has required employers to cover employees who work at least 20 hours a week for over 35 years. Hawaiian residents also have the longest lifespans in U.S. as well as one of the least expensive health care systems. As a result, 90 percent of Hawaiians have health care coverage. One of the ways that they are able to accomplish all of this is by standardizing health care plans and limiting administrative costs. Maybe President Obama should bring up his home state when people talk about how health care reform will bankrupt us all.
