If you are unable to obtain Georgia health insurance through your employer, then you may be looking for alternatives. Georgia is a state that offers some options to those residents who are unable to afford standard plans. Two such options are PeachCare for Children & Cancer Coalition. The Cancer Coalition plan is designed to cover those who make too much to be eligible for the state's Medicare Program, but who really don't make enough money to pay for things like cancer screenings. This program offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings to those women who are in the lower income brackets and once diagnosed covers many through the follow tests and screenings, provide them at no additional cost. The PeachCare for Children is a program designed to provide health coverage to those children who are not eligible for Medicaid and who are ineligible for other health insurance plans. Parents pay a small reasonable fee for insurance coverage for their children.
If you do not qualify for the low-cost/no-cost health coverage alternatives, you might have to consider a high-deductible/health plan. These are not cushy plans. If you have a health emergency, you will have to pay a high deductible before a coverage kicks in.
